Welcome to Apex Driving Academy. Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully before booking lessons.

Quick Summary (Easy Guide for Pupils)

  • ✅ You must hold a valid UK provisional licence and be fit to drive.
  • ✅ Lessons must be booked in advance and paid for in full (single or block).
  • ✅ 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule, otherwise the full fee is payable.
  • ✅ Your instructor may refuse use of their car for a practical driving test if they do not consider you ready.
  • ✅ We keep your details safe – see our Privacy Policy.
  • ✅ Lessons and bookings are governed by the laws of Scotland.

1. Driving Licence & Fitness to Drive

  • You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and produce it at your first lesson.
  • You must be fit to drive and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair your ability.
  • It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any medical condition or eyesight issue that may affect your driving.

2. Lessons & Bookings

  • Lessons must be booked in advance and confirmed by your instructor.
  • Each lesson normally lasts 1 or 2 hours (unless otherwise agreed).
  • You must bring your provisional licence to your first lesson.
  • If you are not ready to start your lesson at the agreed time, the instructor cannot extend the lesson beyond the scheduled finish time.

3. Payments & Pricing

  • Lesson prices are agreed at the time of booking.
  • Payment must be made in advance or at the start of the lesson (unless otherwise arranged).
  • Block bookings must be paid in full before the first lesson.
  • Lesson fees are subject to review, but any changes will not affect lessons already paid for.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • You must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
  • If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the lesson fee will still be payable.
  • Block booking refunds will be calculated based on lessons already taken, charged at the standard hourly rate.
  • If your instructor cancels a lesson, they will rearrange it at no additional cost.

5. Instructor Responsibilities

  • All instructors are approved and registered with the DVSA.
  • Your instructor will provide a safe, roadworthy vehicle fitted with dual controls.
  • Your instructor will act professionally and deliver training in accordance with DVSA standards.

6. Pupil Responsibilities

  • You must attend lessons with your licence and be in a fit condition to drive.
  • You are responsible for keeping agreed appointments and paying fees on time.
  • You must comply with UK driving laws and your instructor’s guidance during lessons.

7. Driving Tests

  • Your instructor will advise you when they believe you are ready for a practical driving test.
  • The use of the instructor’s car for the driving test is at their discretion.
  • You are responsible for booking your driving test with the DVSA, unless otherwise arranged.
  • Test fees payable to the DVSA are not included in lesson prices.

8. Liability

  • We will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Your instructor is not liable for delays in lesson schedules due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

9. Data Protection

We process your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. This includes your contact information, booking details, and lesson history.

10. Complaints

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.
